Project Portfolio
DIS have supplied and fitted over 200 different model types of IP based network video cameras into new and existing customer sites nationwide.
The exceptional application of the IP camera, as described in the benefits section is that it doesn’t follow the typical “security” rules. This is due to the fact the IP package is so flexible in all types of environments and usages that it can be a complete solution for any number of customer requirements.
To get an idea of the type of environments and usages of the IP camera package we have compiled a short overview of the type of advantages IP network video can bring to your business.
Example 1
DIS had a requirement from a leading high street retailer to introduce a way of monitoring multiple production lines within one of their warehouses in Doncaster. DIS presented a model to introduce 16 IP network video cameras at high level, once installed and configured the company’s management could view record and export images and footage from wherever they were.
From this project it sparked a near constant request from various departments within the same retail company but throughout their different sites for very similar requirements. The flexibility of the plug and play style of installation always guarantees results, which in this example is an increase in manufacturing, resulting in increased growth thanks to network video.
Example 2
DIS has introduced network video into the computer rooms and external doors to the emergency services buildings within West Yorkshire. This was introduced to the customer who had an issue with unauthorised personnel accessing remote computer rooms and buildings. With introducing network video they can now set up alerts to E-mail on movement detected, which can be accessed over the network to any PC at any site with the correct username and password.
The images can be transmitted over the wide area network and stored at the head office computer room, where the authorised person can manipulate and send the images to the relevant person on request when an incident is brought to attention.
Along with network video DIS installed environmental monitoring and access control to the remote and central computer rooms as part of the full IP computer room protection solution.
Example 3
A slightly different request from an existing DIS customer was to introduce network video into their chemical plant to monitor a high explosive chemical whilst being offloaded. Due to the nature of the surroundings and restrictions on equipment used within this area DIS came up with a safe but efficient solution.
It was planned that a HD quality fixed IP camera would be housed within an explosion proof camera housing at high level facing the offload area. The images from the camera then were transmitted using their already installed local area network to a small PC located in the control room.
This meant that the operator could turn on the offload pump and then monitor and record the process using the HD camera from the safety of the chemical refuge control room. With crystal clear images from 30 meters away the operator can zoom right into the gauge valves and control the offload with ease and complete safety.
This solution has been so successful the customer is now looking to role the model out to other areas of the plant and other UK based sites for similar projects.
